Grammy Madness

So the Grammys were actually the best I've seen in quite a few years. Was really glad that Lady Gag me (oops I mean GaGa) opened the show and got it over with. Don't get me wrong, the girl can sing and is definitely a true talent but I'm over the costumes and the air of trying to be sooo mysterious. Ooooooh, she's really a chic from NYC who grew up pretty much like the rest of us, so, yea....
I did enjoy her collaboration with Sir Elton John; he is absolutely one of the most talented peeps on the planet, period. I think I would even sound good singin' a duet with him, I mean how can you go wrong on a duet? Um, wait, cut to train wreck of a duet with Taylor Swift & Stevie Nicks!!! OMG!!! What just happened?? I heard that they are saying there was a technical problem with the sound system on their duet. Really???? Here's my take on Taylor Swift. I absolutely LOVE her and think she is mega talented and very genuine. She wrote every song on her "Fearless" album and I was happy to see her win Album of the Year, but she is arguably not one of the best live singers out there. She is one of those performers that sounds better on the radio after they tweak her performance in the recording studio. The combination of her singing a little off key here and there and Stevie Nicks piping in was just too much ! It also kind of creeped me out to watch & hear Stevie Nicks singing lyrics like "she wears short shorts and I'm on the bleachers"...I'm just sayin'

Back track to Steven Colbert's uncomfortable, unfunny opening monologue. He made a reference to Jay Z and the camera panned over to him and Mr. Z did not look very happy. Then, Colbert had his teenage daughter planted in the audience and he kept asking her if he was cool. Funny once, but after the 6th or 7th time he asked her, even she looked like she wanted to crawl under her seat. I thought I saw her mouth "leave me alone you D Bag", but can't be sure.

Love Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, but really , its starting to look like Nicole's lips are bigger than her skinny little body. Eat and push away from the lip fillers and things should work themselves out!

BEYONCE IN THE HOUSE!!!!!! She absolutely rocked that stage!! What I really love is that she is so fierce a.k.a Sasha Fierce when performing and then so shy and humble when receiving her awards. Congratulations and a big shout out to one of Houston's finest! Well done! Style note: She looked absolutely stunning in each and every outfit she wore, like a beautiful chamelion.

Favorite Performance of the night goes to my girl Pink!!! Absolutely amazing and even more amazing how beautiful she looked and sounded during that performance! Take note, obviously Pink is not one of those singers whose voice needs to be tweaked in the recording studio. She was FLAWLESS!!!! I've always liked her anyway, because she's a no shit kinda girl who always calls it like she sees it and she seems to have a really good heart. Love, love, love her!!!

Best acceptance speech of the night goes to Kings of Leon who to paraphrase said something to the effect of " We've already been drinking, but don't worry, we're happy drunks" followed by " We can't remember who all we have to thank, so if we forget you, we'll buy you a shot later". CLASSIC!

Heidi Klum looked ridiculously chic and skinny for just having a baby and being the mother of 4. Momma can still rock it when she needs to! :-)

Best New Artist went to my boys Zac Brown Band!!! What a great group of guys and what a talented guy that Zac Brown is. I've also heard that he's one of the nicest most genuine guys in the industry, so one for the good guys!

Finally, the tribute to Michael Jackson was really moving and would have been even more moving if I knew that you needed to have 3D glasses to fully enjoy it! WTH? His children were so sweet and nervous. They seem to be adjusting to living with their grandparents and I wish them well on every level.

Fashionistas who got it right:
Keri Hilson (don't really know that much about her, but the girl rocked her gorgeous gown)

Beyonce

Fergie
Carrie Underwood
Miley Cyrus (just wish her hair extensions were about 4" shorter)

Taylor Swift

and those who got it wrong:
Lady GAAAGAAAAAG

Brittany Spears

Miranda Lambert

And for the record, who let those skanks from The Jersey Shore in? "The Situation" and "Snookie"? LMAO

Lastly, cannot believe that Steven Colbert beat out George Lopez and my personal fav Kathy Griffen for best comedy album. And no Steven, you're still not cool.

Gonna throw together a salad and get ready for my weekly fix of The Bachelor. Look for my blog on it later tonight!

Peace Out~
